TenneT and GE install converter platform DolWin gamma

TenneT and GE have successfully installed the offshore converter platform DolWin gamma about 80 kilometers off the coast in the southwestern part of the German North Sea.

Two wind farms, which will be able to supply clean energy to more than one million households in Germany, will be connected to the German transmission grid.

The converter platform left Warnemünde in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on 15 June and started a six-day trip along the German and Danish coast to finally reach its destination. There, the installatio n had to wait until the weather was finally good enough to install the platform on the already finished jacket.

"The converter platform is one of the largest visible indicators for the German energy market. Projects like DolWin3 are essential to provide power to households in the north and to make renewable energy a reality," said Wilfried Breuer, a member of the TenneT management team.
