Argentinean energy company YPF is taking first steps towards renewables
In the port of Comodoro Rivadavia, two ships with rotor blades for Vestas wind turbines have arrived. They are destined for the construction of a wind farm at the Manantiales Behr site in the province of Chubut, marking the first steps of energy company YPF, owned by the state of Argentina, towards renewable energies.
The wind farm in Patagonia is located in an area with excellent wind conditions, which is why Argentina has increasingly become focus of the wind energy industry in recent months. The new wind farm will cover a total area of 6,000 square meters, where 30 turbines of the Danish world market leader Vestas are to be installed.
