The software includes the provision of integrated personnel and vessel tracking software, access control hardware and installation and setup of the marine coordination centre based in Eemshaven in the Netherlands.
GeoSea also benefits from some technological innovations, such as enhanced mapping functionality, integrated helicopter tracking and metocean data feeds.
Mick Cooper, Project Manager at SeaRoc Group, comments on the election: “We’re delighted to have been awarded the contract and are excited to be implementing some of our new functionality on the Merkur project. Over the last year or so we’ve been developing a number of partnerships in order to enhance the offering to our clients – we’re delighted to be working with Oceanwise on this project where we will be integrating metocean feeds generated by their various data capture devices.”
The Merkur offshore wind farm is located about 45 km north of the island of Borkum in the German North Sea. 66 turbines will be erected, which will generate enough clean energy for around 500,000 households.
