FWT supplies EU-financed Windfarm Project in Belarus

2.5 MW turbine is a pilot – further 25 MW are under development

FWT energy, German based manufacturer of windturbines, has won a tender by European Community for a first windfarm project in Belarus. After realizing big windpark projects in Kazakhstan and Russia this is the next step for FWT in a promising region and new wind markets. The tender comprises one single 2.5 MW turbine of type FWT 2500 with 100m hub height and 104m rotor diameter. Commissioning is scheduled for July 2017.

Project partner and general contractor is the Berlin and Minsk based German-Belarus Company LTV, which are very well linked into the region.

FWT Production GmbH is a German manufacturer of wind turbines in the range from 2 to 3 MW. FWT is based on the know-how of former wind power pioneer Fuhrländer AG and consisting of the approved technology of German engineering company wind to energy w2e GmbH. Meanwhile it has increased its track record by delivering turbines to Kazakhstan, Poland and Germany.

Henning Zint, CSO, stresses the importance of this EC project: "For us the entrance to the windenergy market of Belarus is the next step into an upcoming region, which has big wind potential.”
