FWT Production GmbH takes a big step towards a new, upcoming market. Recently ALTEN Ltd. confirmed that it placed a binding order for a 51 MW wind farm to be erected in the Republic of Kalmykia in southern part of the Russian Federation. The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the turnkey realization of the Kalmykia Onshore Wind Farm Project "Priyutnenskaya VES 51 MW" comprises engineering, supply and installation of the wind turbines FWT 2.5 MW as well as all complete electrical and civil infrastructures. Delivery of the wind turbines is scheduled to start by end of 2016, whilst commissioning is expected in the first half of 2017.

ALTEN Ltd., subsidiary of a Czech based holding FALKON CAPITAL a.s., is one of the first companies to develop and operate wind farms in the Russian Federation. Since 2010 it has installed capacity of 2.4MW in the Republic of Kalmykia.

FWT Production GmbH is a German manufacturer of wind turbines in the range from 2 to 3 MW. Established in 2013 FWT is based on the know-how of former wind power pioneer Fuhrländer AG and consisting of the approved technology of German engineering company wind to energy w2e GmbH. Meanwhile it has increased its track record by delivering turbines to Kazakhstan, Poland and Germany.

Kalmykia Onshore Wind Farm Project "Priyutnenskaya VES 51 MW" is the first private investment wind farm in Russian Federation to be built of industrial scale. 51 MW wind farm is the first phase of the project with a total capacity of 300 MW. The project is fundamental for the energy sector of the republic due to the fact that prior commencement of ALTEN Ltd. activities in the region the electricity was imported.

Jozef ?imbora, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FALKON CAPITAL a.s. says that “This indeed is an important step for ALTEN Ltd., as a Wind Park developer and operator in the Russian Federation and another milestone for us as a Group”. Bernd Gieseler, CEO of FWT Production GmbH agrees “The entrance to the Russian wind energy market is our logical next step after having delivered already first wind farm to Kazakhstan”.
