Africa: Dr. Carsten Ropeter accompanies Sigmar Gabriel to Egypt and Morocco

Ge:Net GmbH, represented by managing director Dr. Carsten Ropeter, was chosen to accompany the German minister of economics Sigmar Gabriel on his delegation journey from 16th til 19th April 2016 to Egypt and Morocco. The focus of this journey lay on the renewable energies.

Ge:Net GmbH has already built up good business connections in Egypt and has delivered and installed several wind measurement masts. These good references and the quick, flexible and reliable project management has yield in a further order which was signed during the delegation journey.

During the stay in Egypt an active exchange with Egyptian economic representatives took place. Part of the group accompanied state secretary Beckmeyer on a visit of the Suez Canal. During 12 month the Suez Canal has been enlarged on a length of about 40 km with a complete second lane, its capacity has significantly improved now.

During the second part of the delegation journey the group travelled to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. Morocco has in Africa a pioneer role in renewable energies similar to the pioneer role of Germany in Europe. Therefore a German Moroccan energy partnership was concluded. Morocco proceeds very strategic in the energy sector. Besides providing the necessary energy Moroccan processing strategy in energy emphasizes the system integration and focuses on bidding processes which prefer major investors.
