WE7, November 29th 2005
Vattenfall Europe is now the official main sponsor for WindEnergy 2006 – International Trade Fair in Hamburg. “We are delighted to have gained the support of this major power company for extensive sponsoring of WindEnergy 2006”, announced Dietmar Aulich, Managing Director of Hamburg Messe. “The fact that Vattenfall Europe is taking on this partnership not only underscores the international importance of our trade fair, but also demonstrates Vattenfall’s great interest in renewables in general and wind energy in particular.”
“We will examine the cost effectiveness and the grid integration capabilities of the new generation of wind turbines, and then check out further investments in smart offshore wind turbine systems”, said Dr. Klaus Rauscher, Chairman of the Management Board of Vattenfall Europe. He added that in this context Vattenfall Europe was also planning participation in the intended wind power test field off Borkum. “In view of our current commitment, we see the WindEnergy 2006 as the optimal platform to present our goals to the international industry, which is well represented there,” says Oliver Weinmann, Managing Director of Vattenfall Europe Renewables GmbH. Vattenfall Europe is the German affiliate of the Swedish Vattenfall Group, which is the fifth-largest energy company in Europe.
The WindEnergy 2006 – International Trade Fair will be held in Hamburg from 16 to 19 May 2006; this third event in the series will be the meeting point for the innovative wind industry worldwide. This international premier fair gives manufacturers and equipment suppliers, planners, finance institutes and measurement and certification agencies, and also the experts from research and development, an international platform for further expansion of this market of the future. A number of countries will be presenting their industry again in the framework of large national pavilions, e.g. Spain, the UK, Denmark and the USA. The key issues at this dedicated specialist fair are offshore technology, financing and export. The international cooperation partner of WindEnergy is the EWEA, and there are further partnerships with VDMA, BWEA, AWEA, InWEA, CREIA.
