Germany: WFW advises KKB on the acquisition of the “Wölkisch” onshore wind farm in Saxony
The wind farm, located in Saxony, is equipped with six Senvion M92 wind turbines. It has a total installed capacity of 12.3 MW. The six turbines are part of a larger wind farm project developed by the WSB group, which is being commissioned in two steps this year. WFW advised KKB on all legal and tax matters relating to the due diligence and the negotiation of purchase and project agreements. The acquisition was effected by the acquisition of all shares in the wind farm’s operating company through a German holding company founded by KKB.
This latest acquisition continues KKB’s successful expansion in the German wind sector. KKB has been advised by WFW on all their German wind farm projects so far. KKB’s stated aim is to own and operate over 140 MW of wind energy assets across Germany, France, Italy and Norway by 2020.
The WFW team was led by Hamburg-based partner Dr. Marcus Bechtel (Corporate). He was supported by partners Gerrit Bartsch (Tax, Hamburg) and Michael-Alexander Rojnic (Real Estate, Hamburg), as well as senior associate Cathrin Browne (Corporate, Hamburg) and associates Thomas Rieck (Corporate, Hamburg), Alexander Schroer, Tilman Haase (both Real Estate, Hamburg) and Timo Kopmann (Tax, Hamburg).
Dr. Marcus Bechtel comments: “We are delighted to have once again advised KKB on the expansion of their German wind farm portfolio and to have, thereby, continued our successful working relationship with KKB.“
