News Release from American Clean Power Association (ACP)
Wind Industry Profile of
AWEA - American Petroleum Institute includes wind in its annual energy report for first time
Jack Gerard, head of the American Petroleum Institute, in releasing his group’s first ever annual report with chapters on each renewable energy sector, listed sectors in which the U.S. holds world leadership. Wind energy is one of these sectors. The U.S. is the leading producer of wind energy worldwide thanks in part to the productivity of our turbines.
API, in its annual State of American Energy report, included an entire section on wind written by the American Wind Energy Association. In contrast, API’s 2014 State of American Energy report did not mention “wind” once.
More wind energy was under construction in 2014 than ever before in America. API’s report is the latest indication that energy industry leaders are recognizing renewables’ increasing prominence in our energy mix and how diversified many energy companies have become.
Clean, affordable, homegrown energy isn’t just a notion for the future – it’s available today.
