BBB assesses 16 Megawatt Wind Farm in Germany

Positive customer response to due diligence services

The first transaction in which BBB Umwelttechnik GmbH (BBB) assists the German utility Stadtwerke Stuttgart GmbH was concluded highly successful: The wind farm located in the Westphalian community of Everswinkel which was developed and built by BayWa renewable energy GmbH has now been acquired by Stadtwerke Stuttgart for a purchase price of about 25 million Euros. Subject to BBB’s technical evaluation in due diligence process were the project-related permissions, the existing expert reports and all relevant technical contracts.

Bettina Ambacher, the responsible project manager for the Everswinkel wind farm at Stadtwerke Stuttgart praised the performance of the wind energy consultant: “During the whole transaction we were in close contact with BBB’s experts, who have acted in our interests in the best possible way. The technical assessment of the wind farm project in Everswinkel was carried out with great expertise and provided us with a solid basis for decision-making. Therefore BBB contributed substantially to the success of this transaction.”

For Stadtwerke Stuttgart the transaction marks the beginning of the electricity production from wind turbines. The eight plants of the 2 megawatt class can supply more than 10,000 households with green energy – which is planned to be expanded in the future. As a long-term objective Stadtwerke Stuttgart wants to generate the electricity for all the households of the regional capital from renewable energy sources until 2020.
