Vestas has been made preferred supplier by Vattenfall for an extension to the 90MW Kentish Flats project in the outer Thames estuary at the same time as appointing a new head of offshore:

If the Kentish Flats extension goes ahead it could use up to 17 of Vestas' new V112 3MW turbine. The projecct, which came online in 2005, currently uses 30 V90 turbines.

Vattenfall said the UK's Infrastructure Planning Commission is expected to make a decision on whether the extension goes ahead in 2013. Until then the turbine will not be completed.
