USA - NaturEner Secures Financing for Rim Rock Wind Farm in Montana
Acciona Windpower will supply 189 MW to NaturEner for a wind farm in Montana. Wind energy in Montana: Acciona will supply 126 wind turbines.
The wind energy contract is for one hundred and twenty-six 1.5-megawatt AW 77-1500 wind turbines, to be delivered and installed in 2012. It includes the operation and maintenance of the wind farm.
Acciona Windpower, a subsidiary of the Acciona Group dedicated to the design, manufacture and sale of wind turbines and the construction and assembly of wind power parks, has signed a contract with NaturEner USA, LLC to supply its 189 MW Rim Rock wind farm in Montana (USA).
In addition to supplying the wind turbines, Acciona Windpower will manage the transport and the start-up of the wind turbines, as well as the operation and maintenance of the installation for seven years.
Rim Rock will have 126 wind turbines with a unit capacity of 1.5 MW and a rotor diameter of 77 meters. Delivery and installation will be carried out throughout 2012.
In previous years Acciona Windpower has supplied NaturEner, a Spanish company that works in the development and operation of renewable energy plants (hydro, photovoltaic solar and wind power) in Spain, the USA and Canada, with a total of 210 MW for two wind power parks (Glacier Wind I and II), also located in Montana.
The new contract consolidates Acciona Windpower's position in North America, where it has supplied a total of 1,314 MW in recent years (713 MW in the US, 556 MW in Mexico and 45 MW in Canada).
Acciona Windpower designs and manufactures 1.5 MW and 3 MW wind turbines. It has three turbine assembly plants -two in Spain and one in the United States- and one turbine blade manufacturing facility (also located in Spain). Since 2004 it has assembled 3,845 MW for 88 wind farms in 13 countries.
