Falck Renewables, through its Swedish subsidiaries, has awarded the Nordex Group two contracts to supply in total 31 N131/3900 wind turbines and the associated civil and electrical infrastructure works on an EPC turn-key basis for the two Swedish projects “Aliden” and “Brattmyrliden”.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, the Nordex Group received firm orders for 1,598.6 megawatts (Q4/2016: 1,420.8 MW), an increase of 12.5 percent compared to Q4 2016. After the sluggish order intake registered in the first three quarters, expectations of a strong fourth quarter have been met.

One year ago the Nordex Group installed a N131/3300 turbine with a hub height of 164 metres at the "Hausbay-Bickenbach" site in the Rhineland-Palatinate. Despite only light winds over the past year and the fact that the turbines were not often continuously available due to scheduled measuring activities in the first twelve months the N131/3300 produced more than nine GWh of clean electricity against the backdrop of an average wind speed of 6.1 m/s.

The Nordex Group has signed two promising contracts with EDF Energies Nouvelles. The French utility has now ordered a total of ten turbines with a combined output of around 36 MW from Nordex. The turbines are for the “Espiers” and “Guilleville” wind farms that are being built around 100 kilometres south of Paris.
