DURALLOY® Tribological Systems

DURALLOY® is a special thin dense chromium coating. It provides effective protection against friction and vibration corrosion and thus increases considerably the wear resistance of the material when used, for example, in gears or with shaft-hub-joints. For ball or roller bearings (see picture) an effective wear protection is given under variable friction conditions. Coefficients of friction will be reduced due to the planishing after the running-in process. Raceways of high precision bearings or outer diameters of spindle bearings are examples of coated objects.
