ACSA DELIVERS A27-225kW WIND TURBINES FOR ITALIAN CLIENT

Las Palmas, 31.08.2011. As part of a wind farm of three units, ACSA delivered its third A27-225kW wind turbine to its Italian customer. The project is part of a complex installation to upgrade and maintain a very weak grid at the same time. The first unit has been installed and is running successfully, and number two and three will be installed as soon as all site preparations are finalized.

The A27-225kW wind turbine from Aerogeneradores Canarios S.A. (ACSA) is a licensed version of the good old Vestas V27, and even further improved. ACSA produces, installs and maintains these units since 1991. The wind plant is situated in the Far East, and marks ACSA’s entry in the Asian market. The delivery also firmly establishes the revitalization of ACSA’s supply chain and assembly line for this well known product with its unique characteristics.

For single wind turbine projects and small wind farms, robustness and reliability are generally considered to be the critical success factor. ACSA has an unbeaten track record for its service & maintenance: more than 98% availability after 19 years of operation under the harshest conditions (yearly average wind speed of up to 10m/s, salty, dusty and gusty wind environment). During those years ACSA managed a continuous improvement program, resulting in a product that according to researchers, today is even better than the original V27 version. Only European components are used. Apart from its most important characteristic: reliability, ACSA’s low wind speed version with a 29m rotor diameter version (A29), produces significantly more MWh than other wind turbine models in the same kW-range.
