Husum symbol of wind energy Review: HUSUM WindEnergy 2010

Having 33,000 visitors from more than 80 countries and 971 exhibitors HUSUM WindEnergy 2010 again demonstrated to be the most important fair of the international wind energy industry. Recording a plus of 30 % of exhibitors as well as visitors compared to 2008 the exhibition exceeded all expectations. The next HUSUM WindEnergy in 2012 is almost fully booked right now. Thoroughly positive has been the atmosphere among the visitors, jointly and confidently facing the future.

SIAG Schaaf Industrie AG also looks back at HUSUM WindEnergy 2010 extremely satisfied. “This exhibition is the meeting point for the most important decision makers of the wind energy industry. We had good conversations with our existing contacts and were also able to generate new contacts. Especially in our new business unit offshore wind energy we had a lot of interesting meetings“, says Tomas Marutz, Member of the Board of Management of SIAG Schaaf Industrie AG.

According to statements by fair organizers and expectations of industry experts wind projects amounting € 5 billion were initiated during the exhibition – signs are pointing to an upturn.

„Every two years Husum is the focus of the international wind energy industry and an adventure every time again as it does not have the routine of big exhibition centres. This aspect characterizes Husum WindEnergy and increasing numbers of exhibitors and visitors are proof of success. A surprise has been the large number of representatives of the offshore industry. A lot of interesting conversations were made at the SIAG booth“, Christian Adamczyk, press spokesman of SIAG Schaaf Industrie AG, sums up.

This year’s special highlight has been the SIAG symposium followed by a booth party on 23rd September 2010. A lot of interested visitors listened to the speeches of Torsten Herdan, Managing Director of VDMA Power Systems and Prof. Dr. Peter Schaumann, Member of the Supervisory Board of SIAG Schaaf Industrie AG and Head of the Institute for Steel Construction as well as Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science at Leibnitz University Hannover.

During the booth party – already a tradition for many people of the wind energy industry – the exhausting exhibition day commonly came to an end. Singer Daisy & Friends transformed the SIAG booth into a concert stage and as usual provided a lively atmosphere.
