SSB Service Group expands to Italy with SSB Servizi Eolici S.R.L.

The SSB Service Group, Europe’s leading independent service provider for the MW class, has entered the Italian wind energy market as SSB Servizi Eolici S.R.L. Following years of success in Germany and a successful expansion in Spain two years ago, the company now brings its promise of quality, transparency and reliability to Italian Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) customers.

“We currently offer a wide range of services to WTGs in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and the United States,” says Ulrich Schomakers, CEO of the SSB Service Group. “Our expansion into Italy is part of an overall plan to meet the worldwide needs of our customers.” SSB Service Group is already working with several wind farms in Italy, many of which are located on the Italian peninsula and on Sardinia. “SSB Servizi Eolici S.R.L. has started in Italy with seven wind farms with GE, Vestas and Gamesa technology,” explains Inigo Vazquez, general manager for the Southern European Region. “This will be expanded to a total of nine wind farms in the next few months. These wind farms pertain to the main Italian developers. We expect to double those figures in 2011, as well as expand our service portfolio into a comprehensive O&M solution for every size of WTG operator.” As an independent service provider, SSB Service Group develops technological solutions according to customer specifications based on the requirements of their WTG type. It also offers complete service for WTG systems spanning the entire operative value-added chain. This includes high-level technical support, optimization packages, supply of spare parts, upgrades, 24 hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week remote controlling, product engineering retrofits and stock management.

SSB Servizi Eolici S.R.L. is based in Milan and operates a service center in Sassari in Sardinia. A new service center will open in Rome in the next few weeks.
