SSB Service obtains further major order for maintaining 54 wind turbine generators from Danish investors

SSB Service GmbH continues its steady growth. The Aabyhoej-based company International Wind Energy A/S (IWE) offers Danish investors the opportunity to invest in German wind energy projects. As an intermediary, IWE also ensures the smooth management of such projects. IWE has been able to contract SSB Service GmbH, one of the leading German service providers, for the maintenance of a total of 54 WTGs in Saxony-Anhalt. These turbines, each with a rated output of 1.5 MW, are located on four wind farms. According to the agreement with IWE, SSB Service GmbH has been responsible for maintaining 21 wind turbine generators (WTGs) in Saxony-Anhalt since June 2009. At the beginning of 2010, the German company took over the servicing of a further 33 WTGs. The independent service provider based in Rheine, Germany already maintains 550 turbines worldwide under contract, successfully ensuring high levels of availability to achieve maximum yields. In April 2009, SSB Service GmbH also opened a Competence Center for WTGs near Hamburg. The aims of the Competence Center are to provide an even closer analysis of WTG technology, extend existing know-how and increase availability of turbines.
