Europe - Leading wind power CEO to chair EWEC 2010

European Wind Energy Conference, EWEC 2010

Xabier Viteri, Chief Executive Officer of Iberdrola Renewables, the world's largest owner of wind power capacity, will chair the European Wind Energy Conference 2010:

Xabier Viteri, Chief Executive Officer of Iberdrola Renewables, one of the world's leading wind power companies, will chair the European Wind Energy Conference 2010.

"Europe leads the world in renewable energy and wind is at the cutting edge of the renewable mix," says Viteri. "But wind gives Europe more than energy; it is also the source of a strong industry, technological leadership, job opportunities and increased energy independence."

"We must continue to support wind, strengthen its competitiveness and prepare for mass-scale integration. There is still a long way to go. Thought, analysis, strategy and technical responses relating to the present and future of wind power will come together at EWEC 2010 in Warsaw."

Registration is now open for both 'EWEC 2010' and the 'Polish Day' conferences. Register before 13 January 2010 and save up to €250.

EWEC 2010 conference from Tuesday 20 - Friday 23 April will feature over 50 sessions and side events, more than 500 oral and poster presentations and over 2,000 delegates. The conference programme will be published in December 2009. The call for abstracts for EWEC 2010 is now closed.

The 'Polish Day' on Monday 19 April will focus on the wind energy market in Poland is organised by the Polish Wind Energy Association and takes place at the Hilton Hotel, a short walk from the EWEC venue. The call for papers for the Polish Day is open until 30 November 2009.
