Bissendorf, Bremen  - Deutsche Windtechnik is expanding its Training Center: A new location in Bissendorf near the German city Osnabrück will be officially inaugurated today (29 October 2024) with the participation of government officials and representatives from the wind industry. The training courses in Bissendorf will focus on technical training and further education for the company's own service technicians, with an emphasis on maintenance for Senvion and Nordex turbines. With this new facility, the steadily growing company is opening up important new capacities for the technical qualification of its employees, both nationally and internationally. The Training Center in Bissendorf complements the two existing locations in Viöl (focus on turbine technologies from Vestas, Siemens, Enercon and Senvion) and in Bremen (focus on safety training).

The new Training Center is housed in an 800 m² warehouse in the industrial area of Bissendorf. During the opening ceremony, participants will be shown the new location, training equipment and training content. The two authentic, fully functional Senvion MM 82 and Nordex N90 nacelles are particularly noteworthy. Service technicians will be able to practice the basics of technical operation, maintenance and troubleshooting on both turbines under almost real conditions. "The turbines can actually do everything except generate electricity," said Momme Feddersen, Head of Training Center Deutsche Windtechnik. "This enables participants to familiarise themselves with different control system scenarios, for example. They can perform tests ranging all the way up to major troubleshooting. Our aim is to train these activities under conditions that are as practical and real as possible."

Training Center is the foundation for high service quality

Severin Mielimonka, Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik GmbH & Co. KG, said: "The quality of our service in the field is a clear indicator that our practical training on original turbines achieves very good results. In Bissendorf, we have created another important learning location based on this training strategy that is already in use at the Viöl Training Center. And with additional system technology." Quality is also emphasised in the composition of the learning groups. In order to ensure that training is as personalised as possible, the number of participants in courses focusing on systems engineering is limited to just four or, in some cases, eight. The safety weeks in Viöl and Bissendorf also only include twelve service technicians per course. "Another important point is that this training location to the south will further reduce the travel times for many of our service technicians. This saves time, reduces CO2 emissions and is fully in line with our company's sustainability endeavours."

Renewable energies bring economic growth to the region

District Administrator Anna Kebschull in the district of Osnabrück emphasises: "Deutsche Windtechnik stands for high quality worldwide and is a very important player in the successful energy transition. I am very pleased that the construction of the new Training Center is an investment in the Bissendorf area. Renewable energies bring economic growth to our region."
