Load indication in tool display

Together with our partner for electronic wrenches, Rahsol Solutions, Intellifast implemented the indication of the measured clamp load directly on the display of the electronic torque (or torque/angle) wrench. This development allows the fitter to monitor the assembly clamp load even when the display of the ultrasonic measurement unit is out of sight. This feature is not only available to new customers, but also as an upgrade to existing customers already owning our tool. The upgrade package includes the LP3000 B software and wrench firmware.

Tool test phase for automatic tightening of wind turbine bolts successfully completed

Intellifast and its partner Alkitechnik GmbH, Ingolstadt developed a tool where during the tightening process the torque, angle and the clamp load can be measured and documented simultaneously. The tightening process is controlled using the ultrasonic measured clamp load to switch-off of the device.

The assembly conditions at wind turbine sites can only be described as harsh and consistent quality in the assembly of large bolted joints is difficult at best. This tool allows the precise (independent friction coefficient) adjustment of the desired clamp load – due to the integration of ultrasonic measurement technology.

The alkitronic® tool used for the testing delivers maximum torque of 4,000 Nm. The PMTS technology can be integrated in the complete type series (up to 40.000 Nm).
