New North Inc: Recruiting businesses for wind energy conference and trade show exhibit space
New North, Inc. is currently recruiting businesses from across the region and across the state to participate in the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) annual conference in Houston, TX on June 1-4.
Northeast Wisconsin is home to several manufacturing companies that work in the wind industry, including Tower Tech Holdings of Manitowoc and Wausaukee Composites. Over the past year, New North, Inc. has taken the lead on coordinating regional efforts to attract as well as expand existing manufacturers working in this sector.
“This is one of the first efforts at cooperative regional economic development,” said Jerry Murphy, Executive Director of New North, Inc. “As we look to add participants in the trade show, we’re looking beyond Northeast Wisconsin. We hope to expand our regional cluster to include industry representation from throughout the State of Wisconsin.”
The show is expected to draw over 7,000 attendees, and will offer a one-stop-shop for buyers in the wind industry and investment firms from around the world.
The conference will provide a forum for companies already in the wind energy marketplace, as well as those who have the production capacity to compete for component-supply to this industry.
“We’re excited to be able to participate in the conference and show the collective muscle of businesses in the New North,” said David Lisle, President and CEO of Wausaukee Composites and New North Board Member. “Our region is an ideal place for the wind energy industry to grow and thrive, and this conference will provide us with an opportunity to demonstrate that fact.”
Companies interested in joining the New North delegation to the conference should contact Jerry Murphy, Executive Director of the New North at 920.336.3860 for more information and to reserve space within the reserved exhibit space. This is a great opportunity for companies to gain exposure in the fast growing marketplace with a minimal investment of $2,500.00.
New North, Inc. is a regional collaboration effort focused on promoting regional cooperation and economic development in an 18-county region in Northeast Wisconsin. The 18 counties included in the New North are Outagamie, Winnebago, Calumet, Waupaca, Brown, Shawano, Oconto, Marinette, Door, Kewaunee, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Florence, Menominee, and Waushara.
