Germanischer Lloyd joins forces with Hélimax

We are pleased to announce that Germanischer Lloyd (GL) has established a partnership with Hélimax Energy Inc., including an equity participation by GL. Hélimax is a wind energy engineering/consulting firm based in Montréal, Canada. The partnership of Canada’s market leader and Germanischer Lloyd constitutes one of the most powerful global providers of independent expert services within the wind energy sector.

Hélimax is particularly strong in wind resource assessments, wind farm design, energy yield estimates, environmental impact assessments, due diligence services and operation optimisation. These strengths have benefited over 130 clients and partners worldwide for more than 20,000 MW of projects. Over the years Hélimax has acquired specific and recognised expertise in harsh climate and very complex terrain.

Hélimax’s engineering/consulting services will complement Germanischer Lloyd Wind Energy’s competences within the area of type approval, certification and inspection.

Apart from Hélimax’s strong position in the upcoming North American market for wind energy, its international experience spans 20 countries on five continents. Combined with GL’s extensive international network we will be able to offer a holistic service portfolio to our wind energy customers around the globe.
