John Deere Wind Energy announces Canadian expansion
John Deere Wind Energy recently announced it is expanding its business to include Canada. The company has developed a new business capability that provides project development, debt financing and other services similar to those already offered in the United States. John Deere Wind Energy will focus on enabling its Canadian customers and their communities the opportunity to participate in renewable energy development. It will offer specialized expertise in project finance, construction project management, wind turbine procurement, and wind energy technology and operations.
To assist with this new business, John Deere Wind Energy has hired
J. Douglas Duimering as Manager of Business Development for Canada. Duimering will be responsible for developing and implementing tactical and long-range plans for the development of the Canadian market by building relationships with key developers and overseeing project development across the country.
"We have invested in and developed wind projects throughout the United
States over the last few years with great success. We look forward to using John Deere's resources, financial strength and expertise to create a successful wind energy program in Canada as well," says David A. Drescher, Vice President of John Deere Wind Energy. Duimering was recently Director of Sales for Vestas Canada where he supported wind developers on projects throughout Canada. "I've been passionate about wind power for some time and look forward to using my energy and abilities to help John Deere Wind Energy grow its business in Canada," Duimering says.
