France - Boralex announces the start-up of a seventh wind farm

Boralex Inc. has announced the start-up of a seventh wind farm in France. Located at Saint Agrève in Ardèche, the site includes six Enercon wind turbines with a capacity of 2.3 MW each. This brings Boralex's total installed capacity in the wind sector in France to 103 MW.

‘'We are very happy with the commissioning of this new site and very satisfied to operate a seventh wind farm in France. We also want to emphasize the important involvement of the Haut Vivarais Communes Community'', said Patrick Lemaire, President and Chief Executive Officer. Alain Cabanes, President of the Haut Vivarais Communes Community, adds: ‘'The wind farm is the result of seven years of work and consultation. We want to underline the excellent cooperation between Boralex and the local population. Also, even at the beginning of the construction, Saint Agrève's wind farm became a tourist attraction that our Tourist Office successfully enhances with guided tours."

The initial total installed capacity of this site had been estimated at 12 MW, but thanks to the new French legislation, was upgraded to 14 MW, allowing an improved energy production without increasing the environmental risks related to the construction of the site. The inauguration of the Saint Agrève's site will take place on September 7, 2007.
