Amazon and Eneco team up for supply of sustainable energy
The agreement between Amazon and Eneco relates to 130 MW of installed renewable capacity and continues Amazon’s path to power its operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025. An ambition to which Eneco is pleased to contribute.
The renewable energy will be generated by Hollandse Kust Noord, a wind farm that is being constructed 18.5 kilometres off the Dutch coast. CrossWind, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco, is currently working on installing the 69 wind turbines with a total capacity of 759 MW. The wind farm is scheduled to become operational in 2023 and will generate at least 3.3 TWh per year.
“Amazon has a clear climate ambition and we are proud to contribute to this goal by delivering renewable energy generated by the offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust Noord. This collaboration enables us to invest in more renewable energy projects and, thus, accelerate the energy transition,” Kees-Jan Rameau, Chief Strategic Growth Officer Eneco.
