Canada - Three Affiliated Tribes and SkyPower Corp. form joint venture for wind energy development

"Our joint initiative with Three Affiliated Tribes presents significant opportunity to benefit both organizations through the commercial development of wind park projects."

SkyPower Corp. is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary United Wind and Power Corp. ("SkyPower US") has entered into a letter of intent with the Three Affiliated Tribes: the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara of the Fort Berthold Reservation in order to pursue the formation of a joint venture for the development of wind energy projects on TAT Tribal land located in North Dakota.

The proposed Wind Energy project is located south of Parshall and development for the site began in spring 2003. "I am proud to support the project with it especially being in the North East Segment, because the project will bring money and jobs to the Tribe," said Parshall Segment Councilman Mervin Packineau. "The future is in renewable energy and we need to start exploring all opportunities." “I would like to thank SkyPower Corp. and the Three Affiliated Tribes for this proposed project," said Packineau.

SkyPower Corp. is Canada's leading independent renewable energy developer with interests in over forty wind power projects and eight solar parks at varying stages of development which in totality represents in excess of 7,000MW of capacity. SkyPower also administers the SkyPower Wind Energy Fund LP, the largest renewable energy fund in Canada which manages the 171MW Terrawinds Project in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec.

Mr. Kerry Adler, Chief Executive Officer of SkyPower Corp. said, "As
SkyPower continues to work with a wide variety of stakeholders to pursue renewable power projects, we are particularly proud of the relationships we forge with First Nations and Tribes across North America." "Our joint initiative with Three Affiliated Tribes presents significant opportunity to benefit both organizations through the commercial development of wind park projects." "This is a very significant project for the Three Affiliated Tribes in developing renewable energy resources for the Fort Berthold Reservation," said Fred Fox, TAT Natural Resources Administrator. "Mr. Terry Fredericks has put forth a great deal of diligent work into wind energy development for the Tribe."
