On Tuesday evening, the time had come: A first wind turbine from the EnBW offshore wind farm Hohe See generated the first kilowatt hour of electricity and fed it into the grid. According to EnBW, an average of two wind turbines per day will be commissioned in the coming weeks - if the weather plays along.

49 of the 87 wind turbines of the two neighbouring projects "Hohe See" and "Albatros" in the German North Sea have already been erected by the installation ships "Brave Tern" and "Blue Tern". The parts for each turbine are first loaded onto the ships in Esbjerg, Denmark, and then transported to the open sea.

The 87 wind turbines with a total capacity of 609 megawatts are expected to be fully connected to the grid by the end of 2019, producing enough energy to supply all private households in the city of Munich with green energy.
