enercity Chooses Vestas Turbines for Expansion of German Wind Farm

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer will supply ten V117-3.3 MW turbines for the Klettwitz III B.A. 2.2 project.

enercity Erneuerbare GmbH, a subsidiary of Hannover-based enercity AG, has commissioned the Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas with the supply of ten wind turbines as Vestas has announced.

The V117-3.3 MW turbines will be installed in the Klettwitz III B.A. 2.2 project in Brandenburg - an extension of the existing Klettwitz Park. The wind farm was erected on a former coal mining site and is thus an example of the rapid transformation of the German energy market from fossil to renewable energies.

"When fully commissioned, it will produce around 95.000 MWh/y, which is enough to provide energy for around 30.000 households,” says Ivo Grünhagen, CEO of enercity Erneuerbare GmbH.
