Wind Industry Profile of

innogy Takes Over 2000 MW Pipeline in the U.S.

German developer innogy takes over the onshore business of U.S. company EverPower Wind Holdings. With the purchase innogy now owns onshore wind projects with a total output of more than 2,000 megawatts (MW). The projects are in different development phases.

innogy is massively expanding its onshore business. The U.S. antitrust authority has now given green lights for the takeover of EverPower Wind Holdings.

Hans Bünting, CEO Renewable Energies of innogy SE, said: "We aim to grow our renewables activities worldwide. With the acquisition of EverPower’s excellent onshore wind pipeline, we have established innogy as a relevant renewables player in the US market, one of our key strategic growth areas. Our strengthened team will now focus on execution of our first US wind projects. After commissioning, our wind farms will supply hundreds of thousands of homes with green energy.“

The pipeline includes wind projects with a capacity of 2,000 MW in various development phases. The projects are spread over eight U.S. states (Maine, Maryland, Montana, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington and Wyoming), all attractive for renewable energies. innogy and British investment company Terra Firma, owner of EverPower Wind Holdings, have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The secured project pipeline comprises three wind projects in advanced development phases: Cassadaga (~126 MW) and Baron Winds (~270MW) in New York State and Scioto Ridge (~200MW) in Ohio. innogy plans to start up these projects by the end of 2020. Scioto Ridge is the first innogy wind farm in the United States to be built at the beginning of 2019.

In Europe innogy has an installed capacity of 2100 MW in onshore wind. There is a development pipeline of over 7,800 MW in on- and offshore wind and photovoltaics.
