Euskalforging awarded the supply of 16 foundation flanges for Albatros offshore wind farm project
The project consists of up to 16 Siemens wind turbines SWT-7.0-154 with a monopile design foundation. Each turbine is rated at 7 MW giving a generating capacity of up to 112 MW. The EPCI foundation contract has been assigned to GeoSea and Siemens.
Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farms, developed by EnBW, will be located around 90 km north of the island of Borkum in the German North Sea covering an area of 42 square kilometres and are expected to generate around 2000 gigawatt hours of electricity for around 560,000 households.
Under the terms of the contract, euskalforging will fabricate and deliver to Sif Group 16 flanges that will be integrated in the foundation.
The project represents another milestone for euskalforging and reinforces its technological leadership and project execution capabilities in the offshore wind market after participating in more than 35 offshore wind farms in the last few years.
