TÜV SÜD at Offshore Wind Energy 2017

TÜV SÜD will showcase its full portfolio of offshore wind energy services at the world's largest gathering for the offshore wind energy industry this year. At their exhibition stand, the offshore experts will advise professional trade visitors about the tests, inspections and certifications needed for international offshore projects. The exhibition will take place at the ExCel Exhibition Centre in London from 6 to 8 June 2017 (North Hall, stand N-M60).

“Independent third-party inspection services are indispensable for offshore wind farms,” says Alexander Heitmann, Head of the Offshore Wind Energy Department at TÜV SÜD Industrie Service. “However, at international level, few testing and inspection organisations have the field experience required for adequately assessing and monitoring the complex processes involved in the development, logistics, installation and operation of offshore wind-energy farms.”

Assessment must cover the entire project from planning and design, through to production, transport, installation and commissioning of turbines and components, wind farm cabling and grid connection, all in compliance with national regulations and international codes and standards. “Our team has in-depth experience with all aspects of offshore projects, from site-specific factors such as ground and wind conditions to turbine types and sub-stations, covering health, safety and environmental protection”, says Dr Martin Webhofer, Head of Wind Energy at TÜV SÜD Industrie Service. “In line with our customer's country and project-specific requirements, we focus our knowledge and resources to provide fast and efficient services on the international market.”
