Senvion installs largest rotors in France
Senvion, a leading global manufacturer of wind turbines, has completed the installation of five Senvion 3.0M122 wind turbines, equipped with a 122 meter rotor diameter, the largest rotor ever installed in France.
These wind turbines at the Quatre Chemins wind farm, have a hub height of 89 meters and a nominal power of 3 megawatts (MW), which perfectly suit the site's constraints with a total height of 150 meters. The wind farm is developed by Noria and Quadran and is located in Coupéville in the Marne department. With a total output of 15 MW, it will produce enough electricity to power 5,000 households (including heating) in France and save 9,600 metric tons of CO2 emissions every year.
The Senvion 3.0M122 wind turbines are part of the very comprehensive Senvion's 3 MW portfolio including the 3.6M140 EBC, 3.6M114 NES, 3.4M122 NES which are designed to be suitable for every site. The new NES turbines offer an even more flexible electrical system.
Olivier Perot, Senvion France Managing Director, states: "Our diverse product and service portfolio fits the French market characteristics particularly well. Notably, our 3 MW wind turbines equipped with a large rotor diameter can be integrated in low wind speed sites with constraints. The new technologies developed by Senvion provide gains in productivity and competitiveness for the French wind energy sector. We are particularly proud to have installed the largest rotor in France and to contribute to the success of the Energy Transition in France."
In 2016, Senvion is the third manufacturer in France with a cumulative capacity of almost 2,200 MW at the end of 2016 which represents 18% of the total capacity.
Senvion continues to strengthen its position in France, namely with the new firm orders totaling 80 MW with several different clients during the last two months of 2016.
