Global: Helping to Reduce the Cost of Offshore Wind Farm Installation

Drawing upon our extensive experience in delivering intelligent engineering solutions to support the installation and operation of offshore wind farms, we are currently developing new technology that will support the delivery of the latest offshore windfarms.

Working alongside Tim Bland of OMC Ltd and former Project Manager for the Tees Offshore Wind Farm, our new technology is set to improve safety and reduce project risks as well as overall project costs.

Developments include:

A new flange bolt installation and torquing tool to enable safer handling of multiple flange bolts and to reduce installation times and costs
A universal sea-fastening system for towers, transition pieces and nacelles – the clamp based system is adjustable for a range of different sized components, can be used across a number of projects and reduces the time and cost of sea-fastening operations.
