Germany: Senvion strengthens management team: Christoph Seyfarth to join as new COO

In his new role, Dr. Christoph Seyfarth will manage the Supply Chain, Global Blades, Global Nacelles, Operational Excellence and Order Fulfillment divisions and report directly to CEO Jürgen Geißinger.

Jürgen Geißinger, CEO of Senvion, said: “Christoph Seyfarth brings with him experience of the wind industry and is therefore familiar with the specifics of the sector. In addition, he has decades of experience in other sectors, including the automotive industry. Seyfarth holds a doctorate in business administration from the University of Würzburg. Before his appointment at Senvion, he was a member of the Executive Committee of Nordex as COO Nacelle and Tower from 2015 and managed that company’s global purchasing on an interim basis before taking over the “Nacelle + Towers” centre. Christoph Seyfarth brings with him more than 20 years of managerial and professional experience in the purchasing departments of international manufacturers, with leadership roles held at Alvarez & Marsal, Magna International and Mercedes-Benz.

In 2015 Senvion was acquired by investment firms Centerbridge Partners and Arpwood Partners and has since strengthened its Product & Technology division, in particular by introducing a new low-wind turbine, installing the first turbine with a new electrical system and opening an additional Research & Development Center in India to support the Senvion TechCenter in Osterrönfeld. Moreover, purchasing activities at the headquarters in Hamburg have been boosted by the Senvion sourcing office in Shanghai, in operation since June 2015.
