Germany: Amrumbank contract win sees OMM expand vessel management client base

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has completed a contract with Aggreko, a global leader in the supply of temporary power and temperature control solutions, to support temporary power supply during construction of Amrumbank West Offshore Wind Farm in Germany.

It is the first time that OMM has worked with Aggreko. The contract saw OMM provide vessel management services as well as experienced personnel and reliable offshore logistical support, whereas Aggreko provided offshore modified hardware and offshore certified generator engineers.

Mr. Thomas Schmerz, Sector Account Manager - Renewables from Aggreko in Germany, said: "We feel honoured that the offshore wind market once again relies on the world leader in temporary power supply and we are very happy, that we found an experienced and strong partner with OMM, to operate a comprehensive temporary power solution placed on all Transition Pieces in the wind farm. The cooperation with OMM always was very professional and I am looking forward to further collaborations."

OMM started work in February this year prior to completion in early October. Over the course of the contract, OMM completed 46 operations to refuel the temporary generators and supplied approximately 171,000 litres of fuel. OMM's scope of work was increased in August to further support Aggreko through the transfer of personnel and performing demobilisation activities. In between jobs, the vessel was on stand-by in Havneby and Esbjerg Denmark.

OMM's ability to mobilise the vessel with immediacy and undertake additional services demonstrates the flexibility it offers to clients, this ultimately enables OMM to provide the highest standard of service, consistently.

John Lawton, Director at Offshore Marine Management, said: "Having a vessel on standby meant that we were available to refuel at any time as well as ensured we were able to deliver additional support services at the client's request."

"We have extensive experience in vessel management services and are delighted to have expanded our client base with the addition of Aggreko. This has been another successful vessel management project for the team and we hope to support Aggreko again in the future."

This latest contract award is one of many support vessels OMM currently has mobilised in the offshore renewables sector. The firm carried out in excess of 3,500 vessel management days during 2014, with a number of key industry relationships forged.

The firms' vessel management portfolio includes guard vessels, refuelling vessels, accommodation vessels, crew transfer vessels and emergency response and recovery vessels.
