UK: Gunfleet Sands offshore wind farm awards three year O&M crew transfer contract to CWind

CWind, a leading provider of integrated services to the wind industry, has today announced that it has won a 3-year contract to supply crew transfer services during the operations and maintenance (O&M) phase at Gunfleet Sands offshore wind farm (OWF) off

The CWind Challenger will be transferring technicians and equipment to the wind farm for the next three years. Gunfleet Sands OWF has the option to extend this contract for up to two years.

CWind Challenger will be operating from Brightlingsea in Essex, which incidentally is where the vessel was built and launched in 2013.

Thomas Engmose, Head of Operations Gunfleet Sands at Dong Energy said: “CWind’s vessels have proven successful at DONG Energy sites on several occasions in the past and their capabilities continue to match our demands. We are keen to have strong local content but from an operations point of view technician safety and comfort, availability on contract and outstanding fleet management are central. Fortunately for us, CWind satisfies on all of those counts.”

Bruce Clements, Business Development Manager at CWind, commented on the contract win: “We are delighted to be supporting Gunfleet Sands OWF. This was a highly competitive tender process and we are all proud to have proved to be the best match for the client’s operational team requirements.
