Inside Japanese Wind - Groundbreaking Ceremony Observed For Eurus Date Kogane Wind Farm

Eurus Energy Group solemnly observed a groundbreaking ceremony on June 12 at a site for the Eurus Date Kogane wind farm (total output capacity: 34MW) in Date city, Hokkaido.

The ceremony was attended by the mayor of the Date city, other local celebrities and the representatives of engineering contractors concerned.

This project consists of 17 wind turbines, each rated at 2MW, that is blessed with the windy conditions of Uchiura Bay, and will be located in the vicinity of the existing 5 wind turbines of Eurus Date wind farm (total output capacity: 10MW).

The start of the commercial operation of the plant is planned for February, 2017. The project is expected to generate a total amount of electric power equal to the power consumption by 20,000 general households. The CO2 reduction effect of the project is estimated to be about 48,000 tons a year.
