Exhibition Ticker - Mexico Windpower 2015 Exhibition & Congress

February 25 - 26 2015 / Centro Banamex, Mexico City

Everything is changing towards the development of a much stronger and more dynamic economy. The Mexican government’s new renewable energy targets mean that doors will be opening for the wind industry and its stakeholders, creating business opportunities.

Mexico WindPower 2015 will therefore play an important role in bringing together key players of the wind power industry including representatives from three levels of government, companies, industry experts, academics and professionals. All will meet face to face to see how the supply chain can help achieve Mexico’s 35% RE targets by 2024.

Wind energy is currently one of the most competitive renewable energy sources. Despite the high investment costs, operating costs are very low compared with those of conventional technologies.

The development of the wind energy sector has the full support of the Mexican Wind Energy Association (AMDEE), a key proponent and leader in both public and private decisions that affect the industry, promotes best practices and the use of cutting edge technologies.

The Mexican government has effectively challenged the wind industry to install ~2 gigawatts per year for the next decade. We accept the challenge, and with any luck Mexico will be one of the major wind markets globally going forward (source from GWEC).

AMDEE has set a target of 12,000 megawatts of wind power by 2022, an increase of 10,000 megawatts from today; creating 11,000 jobs and attracting MXN 30 billion of investment.

The 4th edition of Mexico WindPower as a Congress & Exhibition format is the most important international meeting point for the development of wind power in Mexico. The 2015 edition will focus on the changes the new energy reforms aims to bring to the country’s energy sector.

Distinguished government guests, including President Peña Nieto, will provide an overview of the secondary laws’ ‘Green Package’ and their impact on the Mexican wind power industry.  The two-days’ rich programme of topics and each session’s high quality experts will address the challenges these impacts may present, more importantly, seek to provide the solutions in the short to long term in order to address these.

Mexico WindPower 2015, will be:

  • An international conference with high level presentations focused on the development of the wind power potential in Mexico.
  • A 5,000 sqm exhibition for products and services for the wind industry.
  • A meeting of frontline providers essential to the value chain of the industry.
