Gamesa wind energy unit wins contracts worth 76 mill. Euro in Italy

Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica SA said its Gamesa Eolica unit has won five new contracts worth a total of 76 mln eur to install 116 megawatts in various wind farms in Sicily. In a statement, Gamesa said Eolica will supply 136 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 850 kW, to Italianas Windpower Sud Srl, Enpower Srl and Moncada Construzioni. The contracts include supply, installation, operation and maintenance, the company said, adding that initial construction work is due to begin in the second half of 2005.
