Wind Industry Profile of

Vestas continues to expand Colorado workforce

In September, Vestas announced three major orders for wind turbines for U.S. projects...

To meet customer demand, Vestas has hired hundreds of new employees this year at its tower factory in Pueblo and will bring on board additional workers at three of its Colorado factories — the blade factory in Windsor, blade factory in Brighton and nacelle factory in Brighton. Vestas is recruiting now and expects to add hundreds of production workers in the first half of 2014 in Windsor and Brighton, primarily at the two blade factories. The Vestas blade factory in Windsor manufactures 44- and 49-meter blades while the factory in Brighton produces 55- and 57.5-meter blades.

Vestas seeks people who can work with machinery, power tools, gages and measuring tools. Basic math and computer skills are necessary. A high school diploma or GED; or one to three months’ related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

On behalf of Vestas, Elwood Staffing (formerly SOS Employment Group) will accept all job applications at the three factories. Elwood Staffing will begin screening applicants immediately.
