GWU-Umwelttechnik GmbH, specialized on all kind of wind measurement, now offers a complete line of Doppler-Wind LiDAR wind sensors.


The proven and popular Doppler-LiDAR system WINDCUBE v2 which can be conveniently used in mobile and autonomous applications the portfolio is complemented by two other Doppler LiDAR technologies:


  1. Scanning LiDAR systems from Leosphere allowing three-dimensional measurements of wind fields in many scan modes. Applications include 3D measurement and analysis of wind field e.g. on the territory of planned wind farms, observation and analysis of wakes a.m.m.

  2. Turbine-mounted Doppler LiDAR systems from Avent Lidar Technology (Wind iris), measuring the wind flow either in front or behind the turbine. Main applications include operation optimization (yaw alignment, wind sector management …) and detection of underperformance/power curve verification. It is well used for time limited campaigns as it is easy to install and remove on operational turbines.


GWU-Umwelttechnik acts as sales and service partner for LiDAR systems of Leosphere and Avent and SoDAR systems from Atmospheric Systems Corp.. These systems are available for sale, rental or services. In addition mast based wind and meteorological systems from R.M.YOUNG and data acquisition with remote access are offered by GWU-Umwelttechnik.
