A2SEA takes ownership of Offshore Wind Farm Installation Vessels OCEAN ADY and OCEAN HANNE to be renamed: SEA ENERGY and SEA POWER

In a further decisive step towards the upcoming market requirements for installation and service of offshore wind turbines, A2SEA take full ownership in M/V OCEAN ADY and M/V OCEAN HANNE as per end February 2005. Until now, ADY and HANNE have been contracted by A2SEA on a long-term TC charter agreement with ORION - P.E.P. Shipping.

Both vessels were converted by A2SEA into offshore installation vessels in 2001-2002 and have been operating in the offshore wind industry. With more than 175 wind turbines installed offshore and a wide range of service tasks performed in the last 3 years, these vessels provide state-of-theart technology at an attractive price level.

It has been an important strategic goal for A2SEA to secure full ownership in the two vessels. A major upside is to manage and perform installation projects as well as service jobs with a fully integrated team and a single management system onboard the vessels.

M/V SEA ENERGY on deeper water

At the end of March, SEA ENERGY will be docked for additional conversion. SEA ENERGY's jacking legs will be extended from currently 17 metres to 28.5 metres which will enable operations to be performed at water depths of up to 25 metres - depending on sea bed penetration. The first job for SEA ENERGY will be the transport and installation of 30 units V90-3MW Vestas wind turbines on Kentish Flats (UK), starting mid May this year.

For further projects in 2006-2008 it is also the plan to upgrade the crane capacity for the larger and heavier turbines.

M/V SEA POWER is expected to have her main business within the service segment as external crane vessel for exchange of main components on offshore wind turbines - A2SEA's crane-on-call concept is frequently requested in the offshore wind turbine market.

M/V SEA POWER and SEA ENERGY will have their home port in Esbjerg, which is related to the short connecting distance to offshore wind farms of Northern Europe.
