Interview with Claus Larsen, Business Development Manager, DIALIGHT BTI A/S in The Windfair Newsletter
Claus Larsen: Today our core competencies are signalling and safety equipment based on the latest technology and designed to withstand harsh weather and environmental conditions. We have broad experience with both onshore as well as offshore installations.
Dialight BTI obstructions light systems are to be found on wind turbines across the globe and in recent years we have become the biggest provider of obstruction light solutions to the fast growing industry of offshore wind turbines.
Windfair: How many employees does your company have?
Claus Larsen: The Dialight Group has 1.300 employees at present.
Windfair: How many dedicated to Wind Energy?
Claus Larsen: It is difficult to give an exact number. In Copenhagen, Denmark we are 20 people. But we only give the product added value in Copenhagen. The actual product is produced in one of our 3 factories across the globe in UK, Mexico or Malaysia.
Windfair: Do you have any new or upcoming Wind Energy Products or Services?
Claus Larsen: Yes, we do indeed. We are working in several new products and services at present.
For the wind industry the 3 most important news are:
1. Optimising our BT 5000 200.000 cd Beacon (Aviation/Obstruction Light) to be able to fulfill the ICAO Standard 'High Intensity' Type B
2. The BT 120 Navigation Beacon
3. A small marker light that enables maintenance to mount from the inside of the tower.
Windfair: Do you have any special training programs for your employees?
Claus Larsen: Yes, we send several of our employees on training every year to keep them up to date.
Windfair: Tell us about your future developments. What can we expect in the followind years?
Claus Larsen: We see good perspectives for our business in the future, as we are a globally based company which enables us to follow our costumers globally as a full service supplier.
