The Netherlands - REpower supplies 122 MW Dutch wind farm
REpower and Vattenfall to install 122 MW wind farm in the Netherlands. "After the successful installation of the Alpha Ventus and Ormonde offshore wind energy projects, we are very pleased to work together with Vattenfall also in the area of onshore wind power."
REpower Systems SE - in which Suzlon Energy Limited is the majority shareholder with approximately 95 per cent holding - has concludeda contract with Zuidlob Wind B.V., now owned by Nuon, part of Swedish Vattenfall, for the delivery of a total of 36 wind turbines each ofthe 3.4M104 type aggregating 122 MW.
The wind turbines are to be installed in a wind farm near Zeewolde (Province Flevoland). With a total output of around 122 Megawatts (MW) the wind power project is the largest wind farmin the Netherlands to date held by a single owner.
The wind turbine type 3.4M104 belongs to the latest generation of onshore wind turbines of the three-megawatt-class and Is optimized for locations with strong wind conditions. The wind turbines have a hub height of 98 meters and a nominal output of 3.4 MW each. The installation of the wind farm is to be completed in spring 2013.
