Gamesa plans to reach a market share of between 10% and 15% by 2020 in the offshore wind energy business. In addition, the company led by Jorge Calvet confirmed the implementation of its global development center for offshore wind power business in the UK, with an associated investment of 150 million euros until 2014.
Gamesa has already announced in October last year the establishment of this center in the UK. Gamesa announced it would develop port logistics operations from different ports in the United Kingdom, around which also placed its services of operation and maintenance of wind turbines. It considered that the development of this wind energy project would create over 1,000 new direct jobs as well as the generation of additional 800 other among their suppliers and local suppliers.
