First Full Service Contract for wind energy Sites in Austria
FKI Engineering Ltd., U.K., has signed a full service contract with Voith Industrial Services for a wind farm with 46 MW in Austria. FKI Engineering, headquartered in London, is very interested in a reliable partnership with a well-established international service partner. The focus of the maintenance contract is to ensure the high availability of the plants.
The wind energy plants in question are the DeWind D8 (2 MW) and DeWind D6 (1.25 MW) wind turbines located close to Vienna. The “Voith Service Plus” contract encompasses not only plannable maintenance services for all wind turbine components, but also the immediate repair of breakdowns and 24/7 remote monitoring of the plant. A clearly defined escalation scenario guarantees the quickest possible completion of service activities by qualified personnel. The comprehensive availability of spare parts ensures 24/7 service for the removal of short-term disruptions. All parts, including large components such as transmissions and hydraulic powerpacks, are available from a service warehouse located close to the site.
The escalation scenario for fault analysis include clearly defined processes for troubleshooting and corrective actions. Back office and component supplier Specialists, who have already been defined in advance, will be included in the fault finding process, thereby avoiding longer downtimes of the wind turbines.
In weekly to monthly reporting, the wind park’s output will be regularly audited. Voith ensures the wind farm availability as well as full health, safety and environmental compliance at the highest international level. To this end, two service teams have been permanently installed in the wind farm and a local logistics and communication network were setup to fulfill the long term contract.
