Africa - Egyptian group El Sewedy Electric is negotiating with Ghana to install a wind energy project
Sewedy would begin work on the wind farm project in January if granted approval by the Ghanaian government, Ahmed Azouz, head of Sewedy's office in Ghana, told al-Mal newspaper.
Egyptian group El Sewedy Electric is negotiating with Ghana to install a wind power project with investments of $350 million to $400 million, it was reported.
Sewedy would begin work on the wind farm project in January if granted approval by the Ghanaian government, Ahmed Azouz, head of Sewedy's office in Ghana, told al-Mal newspaper. The wind farm would be completed within three years, he added.
The wind farm equipment maker had said it was also eyeing wind markets in Brazil, Turkey, Pakistan and Libya. Sewedy plans to produce 300 towers in 2012 at its wind towers plant in Ain Sukhna on Egypt's Red Sea coast.
