Wind farm Kardam in Bulgaria starts operation
In December, the Swiss company Stream Invest Holding AG (SIH), represented by its local subsidiary, will officially inaugurate its first wind energy project in Bulgaria and start electricity production. The company Energy Competence Centre in Berlin was in charge of construction supervision and implementation of the technical operational management. With Kardam, another multi-megawatt project has been successfully realized.
The inauguration ceremony is held on December 9, 2010 in order to start electricity production of the 12,6 MW wind farm Kardam in the Dobrich region, around 32 km west of the Black Sea coast in north-western Bulgaria. The 6 wind energy converts, type Suzlon S88, 79 m hub height, are supposed to produce with 2,1 MW each, starting in the fourth quarter of 2010. The energy yield of the whole wind farm is expected to be around 34.199.000 kWh (P50) per year, which is enough energy to provide a small town with more than 30.000 inhabitants completely with clean energy.
During the construction phase, Energy Competence Centre conducted the construction supervision including an extensive document management, and analyzed and evaluated all required data for operation of the wind farm. The service provider takes over creation and implementation of a concept for the operational management, as well as continuing support, supervision and consulting for the operational management. Energy Competence Centre also arranges and supervises insurance for the wind farm.
Again, the competency of the Berlin company helped to successfully finish a wind energy project, as before in Romania and Azerbaijan. The Bulgarian market attracts with a high feed-in tariff and accordingly high rate of return.
As a service provider, Energy Competence Centre provides project management, consulting and engineering services for wind energy projects in all phases: from planning until start of operation.
