On October 27-29, 2010 SGS presents its wide range of Wind Energy Services at the Delphi International Renewable Energy Conference (DIREC) 2010 with special focus on its Owner’s Representative Services. The DIREC 2010 will take place at the India Expo Center & Mart in New Delhi, India.

SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is one of the exhibitors at the Delphi International Renewable Energy Conference 2010. SGS will present its wide range of services for the wind energy sector with special focus on its Owner’s Representative Services. Energy is an important input for economic development but today the world’s energy supply
is largely based on fossil fuels and nuclear power. These sources of energy are increasingly limited and have proven to be contributors to environmental problems. Now, more than ever, companies have become aware of the urgent need to focus on the development of renewable energy sources and the use of energy efficient technologies.

DIREC 2010 is an international platform for government, private sector and civil society leaders to jointly address the goal of advancing renewable energy. Government ministers, high-level decision makers and policy-level thinkers from countries all over the world will convene to address the key drivers of renewable energy production and use, which continue to drive the industry forward, despite the global economic recession.

DIREC 2010 provides an interactive forum to discuss and exchange visions, experience and solutions for accelerating the global scale-up of renewable energy. As the risk involved in wind farm projects increases as the height, weight and size are now much larger, services such as Owner’s Representative Services are becoming more important for wind farm owners. For this reason, SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, will be presenting its wide range of Owner’s Representative Services for the wind energy sector which ensure that the contractor meets all required and agreed conditions in terms of:

- Technical parameters
- Quality of equipment and works
- Scheduled time
- Contract price

SGS Owner’s Representative Services provide the wind farm project owner with a solution which allows for efficient and complete monitoring of project work progress by limiting the participation of the owner’s own employees to overall supervision and releasing of payments only. The range of Owner’s Representative Services by SGS Renewable Energy includes services such as inspection of materials, Quality Control and Quality Assurance during civil foundation and electrical installations, Construction Supervision, Expediting, Witness Testing at manufacturing end and on-site as well as Commissioning Supervision. Attendees are welcome to visit SGS at booth no. W-99 in Hall 5 to discuss any questions regarding the risks associated with wind farm construction as well as the most appropriate services for risk mitigation and risk management.
